We are seeking a skilled Reliability Maintenance Engineering Technician to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our equipment and workspaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse, using advanced tools and techniques to maximize equipment effectiveness.
  • Uphold all health and safety policies and practices, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Support the development and progression of onsite apprentices, providing guidance and mentorship to help them grow in their roles.
  • Work on continuous improvement projects, identifying opportunities to enhance the operational environment and implement best practices across multiple EU sites.
A Day in the Life

As an RME Technician, you will be based on-site, responding quickly to any machinery issues that arise. You will carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance tasks to ensure our equipment is working safely and efficiently. You will also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible.

You will work closely with senior colleagues, undertaking day-to-day maintenance tasks such as painting and plumbing, and liaising with contractors when necessary. You will also work on a range of shifts to ensure our sites are supported around the clock, allowing Amazon to deliver at the speed we're known for.

About the Team

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team is a technically-minded group of excellent team players, guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers.

We handle most aspects of Amazon's technical side, from installing automated packaging systems to overseeing the general maintenance of a site and repairing key distribution equipment. We also ensure our buildings are legally compliant, keeping everyone safe and our sites operating at maximum efficiency.

There are many opportunities for progression within the RME team and more widely across Amazon. We focus on reducing downtime in our critical operations sites, so customers receive their orders on time. We often work during early or late hours to carry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including night shifts.

Requirements
  • Served a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject.
  • Relevant experience as a qualified engineer, preferably in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
  • Advanced proficiency in the local language verbally and in writing.

Preferred qualifications include Apprentice Trained, HNC, HND, BSc, or BEng in a relevant Engineering subject. Experience in condition-based monitoring, working with print and apply machines, and fault-finding and maintaining conveyor or automation systems is also desirable.
