About the Company

Our client, a forward-thinking Law Firm, is seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Head of Department for the practice and act as a Conveyancing Solicitor.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive home-moving services to clients, leveraging established partnerships with estate agents, surveyors, mortgage brokers, and home removal companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handling client complaints and concerns
  • Ensuring compliance with KYC and money laundering procedures
  • Overseeing regulatory compliance to maintain SRA authorization
  • Conducting firm-wide risk assessments
  • Delivering in-house regulatory training
  • Developing internal compliance failure reporting processes
Requirements

The ideal candidate must be a UK qualified Solicitor, CILEx, or CLC qualified professional with at least 5 years PQE in Residential Property matters.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring overall compliance with the firm's CLC authorisation terms and conditions
  • Updating and maintaining internal compliance policies and the Compliance Plan
  • Staying informed about regulatory and compliance changes
  • Conducting staff training on compliance and client service quality
  • Reporting directly to the Head of Conveyancing and Directors on compliance matters
  • Providing regular status reports on the firm's compliance arrangements
Additional Responsibilities

You will also be responsible for understanding and managing other compliance areas, including:

  • Training and CPD obligations
  • Data protection
  • Solicitors accounts rules procedures
