Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Brookthorpe Hall School. This role presents an exceptional opportunity for an individual passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people with autism.

About the Role

As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital supporting role in ensuring the educational success of our pupils. You will be responsible for assisting teachers in the classroom, preparing learning materials, and running activities tailored to meet the needs of each individual pupil.

Your primary focus will be on providing emotional and physical support to our students, helping them develop essential life skills and build confidence in their abilities. You will work closely with our teaching staff to create a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters academic excellence and social growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons, incorporating various teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Prepare and maintain a well-organized learning environment, including lesson plans, resources, and equipment.
  • Support pupils in developing independence, self-care, and social skills, promoting emotional well-being and resilience.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior, contributing to our school's data-driven decision-making processes.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • A relevant Higher-Level Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
  • An understanding of autism and its impact on individuals, as well as knowledge of strategies for effective support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, teachers, and parents.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills in response to changing needs.

We offer a competitive salary, ranging from £25,000 to £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience. In addition to your basic salary, you will receive:
