Job Description

Morson Talent is seeking a Senior Structural Design Manager to join their OHL Design team, supporting Construction projects. The role involves leading and coordinating structural engineering solutions for OHL and Substation construction projects. The Senior Structural Design Manager will be responsible for managing overhead line design activities, acting as a project lead and senior design resource, and providing technical advice and support to both internal and external clients. Additionally, the role entails developing design processes, training manuals, and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and coordinate structural engineering solutions for OHL and Substation construction projects.
  2. Manage overhead line design activities.
  3. Act as a project lead and senior design resource.
  4. Provide technical advice and support to internal and external clients.
  5. Develop design processes and training manuals.
  6. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards.

Morson Talent values candidates with advanced expertise in steel lattice structure design, proficiency in managing and coordinating design projects, strong leadership and team management skills, excellent communication skills, and ability to provide technical advice and support. The ideal candidate will also have experience in developing design processes and training materials, up-to-date knowledge of National Grid, SPEN, ENA, and other relevant industry standards, proficiency in resource management and reporting, strong problem-solving skills, and commitment to safety, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • B.Eng or BSc in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering with honours, or HND.
  • Chartered or close to being chartered.
  • Suitably experienced in the OHL industry.
