About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our team at Network Rail. As a key member of our Accounting Services department, you will play a critical role in supporting our Finance Teams and Business Partners to deliver streamlined processes that add value and free up key Finance personnel to make a difference.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial guidance and advice to our Finance Business Partners, ensuring they have the necessary support to navigate our Finance regulations and procedures.
  • Act as a corporate governance champion, safeguarding our business by maintaining corporate governance standards across the routes, regions, and functions.
  • Work closely with the Business to identify reporting requirements that can be best provided from a central team, improving quality, consistency, and time efficiencies.
  • Engage with the processing and reporting teams in Accounting Services to deliver quick solutions to any issues that may block Regional and Group Finance teams from operating effectively.
Essential Criteria
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of business needs and relevant application of accounting standards.
  • Membership (or working towards a membership) of a relevant accounting body (CIMA/ACCA).
  • Expert knowledge and experience of creating and maintaining accounts and annual budgets.
  • Significant experience within relevant finance disciplines.
  • Strong Excel skills and use of data manipulation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical accounting regulations into everyday language.
  • Demonstrable effective influencing skills at a senior level.
  • Excellent technical finance and accounting knowledge.
