Care Home Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and caring individual to join our team as a Care Home Support Specialist. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional care and support to residents in a fast-paced care home environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing holistic, person-centred care to residents, identifying their hospitality, housekeeping and catering needs and preferences. They will work collaboratively with other teams to achieve this goal.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver a high standard of hygiene in accordance with health and safety, infection control standards, food hygiene legislation and the Trust's policies and procedures.
- Ensure room checks, communal room comfort, cleanliness, hygiene and laundry sorting.
- Meet residents' unique needs and collaborate with colleagues across the care home teams.
- Ensure lounge areas are ready for use as a coffee and bar venue for residents and their visitors.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, including writing notes and messages, communicating with people with differing communication needs, encouraging and influencing, and understanding and following instructions and procedures.
- Able to adapt style and approach appropriate to situation or task, analyse and evaluate given information, structure tasks/activities, pre-empt issues and trouble-shoot, refer appropriate decisions to line manager, and challenge or suggest new ways of working to promote efficiency.
- Aware of cultural and individual differences in all interactions and service areas, demonstrate interest, care and attention, create a positive impression, understand and respond to the needs of older people and people with dementia, and collaborate with residents and relatives (where appropriate) tailoring service to meet individual needs.
Essential Requirements:
- Confident with IT and using standard office programs including word, outlook/email, system folders etc.
- Understanding of basic food preparation and cleaning techniques.
- An understanding and appreciation of older people in a care setting and the issues that may affect them.
- Knowledge of basic health and safety rules.
- Knowledge of customer service principles.
Salary Range: £25,376 - £25,376 per annum.
Working Hours: Part-time.
