About the Role

Nissan Motor is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Die Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing both reactive and planned maintenance work on a wide range of press and injection moulding tooling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Breakdown response and repair of tooling
  • Planned maintenance tasks to ensure optimal tooling performance
  • Continuous improvement activities to enhance tooling efficiency and quality
  • TIG, MIG, and ARC welding
  • Fitting and hand grinding to tight tolerances
  • Preventative die and tool maintenance
  • Tooling development and design modification
  • Root cause analysis and problem-solving
  • Hem die function and maintenance

Requirements

  • Completed a Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship as a Die Maintenance Technician, Toolmaker, or CNC operator
  • Experience in the manufacture and maintenance of press or injection moulding tooling
  • Problem-solving and implementation of countermeasures
  • Tool design modification and try-out experience
  • ONC, BTEC, or NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline
  • Proud of existing maintenance or toolmaking experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proactive, organised, self-motivated, and reliable
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
