Wood is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in Staines. As a key member of our Projects business unit, you will be responsible for delivering electrical engineering solutions for high-complexity projects. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the successful execution of our projects, from design to construction.

As an Electrical Engineer at Wood, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse and evolving sectors, including upstream / midstream / downstream oil & gas, chemicals, renewable energy, power, mining & minerals, industrials & manufacturing, life sciences, transportation, and water.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing design packages for electrical systems and equipment
  • Preparing the Project Design Basis Document
  • Preparing project load lists based on the project scope
  • Producing technical reports and specifications for electrical equipment
  • Assisting in electrical activities during the Front-End Engineering Development (FEED) and design phase
  • Coordinating with project managers to finalize the electrical engineering scope
  • Carrying out analysis of major equipment selected in the design package
  • Reviewing and responding to technical and site queries

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Extensive experience in design, engineering, and construction
  • Familiarity with NEC, IEEE/ANSI, IEC, and other international electrical standards
  • Knowledge of analogue and digital control systems, including Power System Automation (PSA), DCS, PLC, and SCADA controls
  • Thorough knowledge of the English language
