Job Description

We are looking for a skilled procurement professional to lead and manage the delivery of a competitive supply chain through strategic and operational procurement. As a Procurement Specialist - Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the procurement team and department, with commercial and operational benefits being a key objective. This includes ensuring the integrity and compliance with internal systems, processes, and procedures, as well as maintaining appropriate liaison with internal stakeholders with the key objective of maintaining a pro-active approach.

The successful candidate will ensure the continuity and expansion of the supply chain while maintaining competitive price solutions with the key objective of increased profitability. Key activities include selecting suitable suppliers, preparing and issuing enquiries, carrying out quotation analysis and evaluation, negotiating and agreeing contracts, and developing, maintaining, and improving supplier relationships and agreements. Additionally, the Procurement Specialist - Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for reporting on price variants, target delivery performance, and supplier service levels, as well as quantifying and producing schedules of materials and goods requirements from drawings and specifications. They will also undertake continuous monitoring and evaluation of the supply chain on both a regional and national basis, taking necessary actions to rationalise/expand the data base of suppliers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have very good Excel skills, be qualified or part-qualified (CIPS, CIOB, or RICS would be an advantage), and educated to minimum GCSE level. A strong ability to drive is also essential as public transportation is not accessible in the area. Experience in previous buying roles is a massive advantage but not essential. The successful candidate must have excellent organisation, attention to detail, analytical, and proficient IT skills. Strong communication and negotiation skills are also required to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and negotiate contracts with suppliers.

Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary range of £26,000 to £28,000 per annum. The position requires the ability to work Monday to Friday 08.30-17.00 hours. Opportunities for career growth and professional development are also available within Acorn by Synergie.
