About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to join our team at Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. As a Consultant, you will be responsible for providing psychiatric input and service development to our North Somerset CAMHS Community Eating Disorder Service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and treat patients with mental health problems, working alongside a case holder within the team.
- Provide psychiatric consultation and formulation to the multi-disciplinary team.
- Work closely with paediatricians and acute hospitals in Bristol to provide comprehensive care.
- Develop and implement service development plans to improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Full GMC Registration or eligibility to be included on the register and holding a current licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of gaining CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Section 12 approval/Approved Clinician Status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant Higher Degree (MD, PhD, MSc) or other additional clinical qualifications.
- MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
- Additional clinical qualifications.
Personal Qualities
- Leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication skills, including written and oral communication.
- Ability to manage own time, workload, and prioritise clinical work.
