About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to lead and manage our key projects within the Defence and Strategic markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of civil engineering projects, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality, are delivered on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage complex civil engineering projects within the Defence and Strategic markets, from initiation through to completion.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and contractual requirements, particularly those specific to Defence and Strategic sectors.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and contractors.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners, ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee procurement processes and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and present updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery and efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Excellent NEC knowledge
  • Good communication and written skills
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience
  • Strong understanding of construction and contract law.
  • Site Base QS (Port of Dover)
  • 4 year framework
  • Day to commercial administration of the framework
  • Preparing and issuing sub-contract orders
  • Agreeing payment schedule with sub-contractors
  • Managing Commercial change control for individual jobs delivered on the framework
  • Prepare monthly application to the client
  • Pricing individual jobs from the contract schedule of rates
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholder engagements
