Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Mathematics Education Assistant to join our team at a vibrant secondary school in Solihull. As a key member of the educational support team, you will play a vital role in helping students develop their mathematical skills and confidence.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate with a strong passion for mathematics to gain valuable teaching experience and make a real difference in the lives of our students. You will work closely with experienced teachers to provide one-to-one support or small group instruction to students in need, focusing on algebra, geometry, and statistics.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt their teaching style to meet the individual needs of students. A 2:1 degree in Mathematics or a related subject is required, as well as a genuine desire to inspire young minds and help them succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality educational support to students in mathematics, developing their understanding and confidence in various mathematical disciplines
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to deliver tailored learning experiences, adapting your approach to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Use innovative methods to engage students, making complex mathematical concepts accessible and enjoyable
  • Monitor student progress, identifying areas where additional support is needed and contributing to the development of personalized learning plans
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • A 2:1 degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject from a reputable university
  • Demonstrated experience working with students of varying abilities, with a proven track record of improving academic outcomes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents
  • A strong passion for mathematics education, with a commitment to inspiring and motivating students
