Assistant Store Manager Job Description

Age UK is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our team in Chester. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Store Manager in all aspects of the business, including guiding and supporting our valued team of Sales Assistants and volunteers, while ensuring customers receive an exemplary shop experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to achieve business objectives and develop strategies to drive sales growth.
  • Lead and motivate a team of volunteers and staff to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales targets.
  • Manage stock levels, maintain a clean and organized store environment, and ensure compliance with Age UK's policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies to drive customer engagement and loyalty.
  • Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a retail management role, with a strong track record of achieving sales targets and leading a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • IT literacy and numeracy skills, with experience of using retail management systems and software.
