We are working with a reputable farming enterprise specialising in soft fruit to recruit a Glasshouse Grower at their farm in West Sussex.
Key Responsibilities- Crop Management & Health: Ensure high-quality crops through effective irrigation, fertilization, and environmental control, while monitoring for pests, diseases, and overall crop health.
- Harvest & Husbandry Planning: Regularly assess crop conditions to plan and execute timely harvests and husbandry tasks, coordinating closely with the Glasshouse Manager.
- Biological & Chemical Control: Oversee biological pest control and assist in creating and implementing spray schedules to protect crop health.
- System Maintenance & Operations Support: Perform maintenance on systems and infrastructure, and support the growing team in various operational tasks.
- Site Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-organized site to support optimal crop production and overall efficiency.
- Experience in commercial greenhouse growing, with a preference for soft fruit production.
- English speaking and computer literate.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
- UK/EU Driving Licence.
- Extremely competitive salary DOE.
