Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School Support Role
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with speech and language difficulties in a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Bethnal Green.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with speech and language difficulties, helping them engage with classroom activities and learning tasks.
- Assist in implementing tailored learning plans designed to address the specific communication needs of students.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCo to adapt resources and strategies that support speech and language development.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and SEN staff on a regular basis.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment, helping students build their confidence in communication and social interactions.
- Assist in managing any behavioural challenges related to communication difficulties using appropriate intervention strategies.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with speech and language difficulties is highly desirable.
- Knowledge or experience in speech and language therapy or related interventions is a plus.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively alongside teachers and SEN staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping students overcome barriers to learning.
- A clear DBS check.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
