Maintenance Tradesperson

About the Role:

Hays Construction and Property is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Tradesperson to join our team at HMYOI Wetherby. As a key member of the Works Department, you will be responsible for performing both reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance tasks.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, although this is not mandatory. You will need to be security-conscious, able to challenge potential compromises, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

A full prison security clearance and enhanced DBS check are required prior to commencement. In addition, you must hold a valid passport or birth certificate, driving licence, and proof of National Insurance and address.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on premises
  • Assist other trades as required
  • Conduct fire alarm and emergency lighting checks
  • Participate in refurbishment and general day-to-day maintenance projects
Salary:

£30,000 - £35,000 per annum

Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role (not essential)
  • Security-conscious and able to challenge potential compromises
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Full training provided on working within a prison environment
