Electrical Design and Project Engineer

HSB Technical Ltd is a specialist recruiter within the Power & Propulsion, Shipbuilding, Shipping & Energy and Aerospace sectors. We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design and Project Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Documentation: Prepare project documentation, including basis of design, detailed functional design specification, FAT, SIT and SAT procedures.
  2. Design Concepts and Documentation: Create design concepts and produce detailed design documentation, including electrical schematics, general arrangement drawings, cabinet and panel layout drawings, I/O lists, 3D models, bills of materials, alarms lists, design reports, cause & effect matrices, FMECA.
  3. Collaboration and Procurement: Liaise with Purchasing for equipment procurement, preparing RFQs and technical procurement specifications & with Production to resolve design documentation issues and create as-built drawings.
  4. Start-up and Commissioning: Start up, commissioning, factory acceptance testing, and where necessary site commissioning site integration and acceptance testing.
  5. Project Close-out: Production of final project close-out documentation package, including drawing updates, O&M manuals, spare parts lists.
Requirements:
  1. Technical Skills: Proficient with E-Plan, 3D modelling and simulation platforms; responsible for taking designs from concept to reality, and familiar with producing specifications, designs and calculations from scratch encompassing PLC/SCADA, power generation & distribution and variable speed drive systems.
  2. Software Experience: Control and automation software experience would also be a distinct advantage.
  3. Education: Degree qualified in Electrical / Marine / Instrumentation & Controls Engineering related discipline.
