The role of a Community Occupational Therapist at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board presents an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of adults, children, and young people with complex needs. As part of our Continuing Healthcare (CHC) service, you will be responsible for providing clinical expertise and professional support to occupational therapy and other staff working in community settings.

About the Job

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a high level of skill, knowledge, and experience. You will be working with individuals who require assessment and provision within the NHS Continuing Healthcare criteria, including those living in residential nursing homes, private nursing homes, and supported living accommodation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and direct practitioners working with adults with CHC needs in hospital and community settings.
  • Improve the quality of OT practice in the area of CHC.
  • Undertake 'one-off' assessments and interventions with less experienced therapists and agency staff.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge relevant to the application of occupational therapy practice in CHC.
  • Assess and provide occupational therapy intervention in cases presenting a high degree of complexity.
