As a member of our team, you will work closely with other caregivers to provide a safe and supportive environment for our young people. You will assist with daily living tasks, such as meal preparation, household chores, and personal care.

Our young people have experienced challenging pasts, resulting in complex behaviors. We strive to create a fun and active environment that promotes well-being and happiness. Activities like hiking, kayaking, cooking, and pamper nights are conducted safely and with care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with other team members to ensure the best possible care for our young people.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with our young people, their families, and other professionals.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as meal preparation, household chores, and personal care.
  • Contribute to creating a fun and active environment that promotes well-being and happiness.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • A Level 3 qualification in Child and Residential care (or a suitable alternative) is desirable but not essential. We will support you in obtaining this qualification if needed.
  • An understanding of trauma and its effects on behavior is beneficial, although training will be provided.
  • You must understand the importance of safeguarding in this role.
  • A valid UK manual driving license and full right to work in the UK are required.

We offer a competitive package, including:

  • Remuneration – a basic salary of £32,000, with uplifts for each shift worked with a young person and for sleeping nights.
  • Investment in you – training to do your role well, including completing your NVQ Level 3 and 4 in Residential Childcare if needed, a progression plan, and training for your career goals.
  • Support – dedicated wellbeing support, an internal Wellbeing Specialist, and free confidential counseling services.
  • An active refer a friend scheme.

We estimate the salary range to be around £30-40k per year, depending on experience and location. This role offers a chance to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
