Mental Health Support Practitioner Opportunity

New Start is a family-run, not-for-profit organisation providing residential and supported accommodation services for vulnerable adults, families, and young people.

We are seeking a Mental Health Support Practitioner to join our Adults Services team based in Liverpool. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable individuals and promoting positive outcomes in their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide practical and emotional support to residents accessing the service, as determined by their individual needs identified through assessment and support planning.
  • Implement and/or facilitate activities to develop individual support pathways that address specific needs, including educational, social, emotional, physical health, and positive mental well-being.
  • Assist residents in maintaining medication requirements to ensure personal well-being is sustained, alongside increasing overall engagement via daily support interactions.
  • Contribute to the safe management of the building and deal appropriately with any occurring incidents, following all reporting requirements associated with the support offer at the service.

  • A competitive salary of £22,561.50 per annum, plus £50 per sleep.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting clients with mental health issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, a calm, patient, and confident manner.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals through crisis or periods of change.
  • Experience of assessing the needs of vulnerable adults, specifically those at risk of homelessness.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with other agencies, both voluntary and statutory.
  • Experience of case work and support planning, risk assessments, and key work.
  • Driver with your own vehicle and business insurance.
