Job Description

As a Senior Cancer Care Nurse Specialist at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Integrated Procedures Unit (IPU).

About Us

The Christie is an internationally renowned Centre for cancer treatment and research. We are committed to providing exceptional care and services to our patients.

Salary: £32,000 - £43,041 per annum, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate as a member of the IPU core nursing team with knowledge in the care of patients on the unit.
  • Provide technical assistance during a range of endoscopy procedures.
  • Competently care for patients including assessment, planning, and evaluation of programs of care.
  • Liaise and integrate with the multi-disciplinary team ensuring patients receive comprehensive care.
  • Take responsibility for your own professional development.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse qualification
  • Experience in cancer care or related field
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Working Conditions

This role requires manual handling and lifting of equipment and patients. You will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergency situations promptly.

Safeguarding

All staff are responsible for ensuring they are familiar with and adhere to the Trust's Safeguarding procedures and guidelines.

Clinical Governance, Audit, Research and Development

You will be expected to work within trust guidelines, policies, and standard operating procedures.
