An exciting opportunity has arisen at the NHS for a skilled Mammographer to join the team at the Parapet Breast Unit in Windsor.

The successful applicant will have excellent mammography and communication skills and will enjoy working as part of a supportive team.

The Parapet Breast Unit is equipped with the latest digital mammography and ultrasound equipment, and the successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality mammographic images and assisting with ultrasound examinations.

Main duties of the job

  • To produce high-quality mammographic images and perform other mammographic procedures in accordance with accepted practice and protocols.
  • To assist with caring for specialist equipment and performing quality tests.
  • To input accurate patient data into the Radiology Information System and National Breast Screening System in a timely manner.
  • To be involved with student training.
  • Any other tasks required.

Job responsibilities

  • To provide a specialised clinical technical service to produce radiographs of the highest diagnostic quality.
  • To maintain an exceptional standard of patient care.
  • To undertake all breast imaging examinations as required in screening, assessment and symptomatic clinics.
  • To rapidly assess patient personality type and respond accordingly to elicit & document relevant clinical history.
  • To possess highly developed physical skills where a high degree of precision & accuracy is essential.

Person Specification

  • HCPC Registered Diagnostic Radiographer
  • Post-Graduate Qualification in Mammography

Experience

  • Performing a high standard of Mammography
  • Experience of assisting with interventional breast procedures
  • Previous National Breast Screening experience.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the National Breast Screening Programme quality aims and objectives

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

The salary for this position is £39,205 to £47,084 per annum, inclusive of HCAS.
