Bournemouth, Bournemouth, United Kingdom WhereToTalk Full time
About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced counsellor to join our team at WhereToTalk, where you will support the coordination and delivery of a confidential single session counselling service to students, complying with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

The post holder will autonomously manage a specialist caseload to ensure our counselling service provides support to students at the point of need. Additionally, the post holder will provide counselling supervision to a small team of sessional counsellors.

You will have a recognised counselling qualification and a minimum of one year's post-qualifying counselling experience, together with in-depth knowledge of the BACP Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions. A counselling supervision qualification, BACP accreditation, and knowledge of working within a higher education context would be an advantage.

This role involves working with children (under 18s) / vulnerable people and therefore requires compliance with our Safeguarding Policies, including the requirement for enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance prior to the commencement of employment. The University is committed to stringent Safeguarding practices, including in its practices around the recruitment and selection of staff, to positions which involve working with children and/or vulnerable people.

The successful candidate will be required to complete our approved Safeguarding Training.

We offer a range of benefits, including a salary increase in line with the grade of your role, an annual cost of living increase, generous holiday entitlement, and enrolment in the Local Government Pension Scheme (professional services staff) or the Teachers' Pension Scheme (academic staff) from day one of employment. Along with subsidised bus travel, cycle to work and annual savings schemes, our broad range of benefits can be explored on our careers website.

We have an agile working policy, and flexible working can be considered.
