Head of Nursing Care Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic nurse leader to join our Haematology team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust as a Lead Nurse.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert clinical care, exercising professional autonomy within their field of expertise, and co-leading a team of professionals/practitioners to provide a high-quality, effective, and efficient service.
The role will also involve raising the profile of the service at local, national, and international levels, participating in the provision of specialist education and training programs, and contributing to service development, evaluation, and quality improvement.
The ideal candidate will have extensive post-registration experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Band 7 or above in a defined or associated specialty, with evidence of achievements and career development in their current post and ongoing professional development/competence.
They will also have experience of leading on the writing/updating of organisational policy/procedure/guidelines associated with the specialty/field, and be able to demonstrate expert nursing knowledge with an ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate specialist care delivered to patients and give advice and information to patients/relatives/care staff.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic and experienced Haematology nurse with a passion for leadership, and will be able to communicate with a wide range of healthcare professionals on complex and sensitive issues.
