About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Clinical Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Medicines Optimisation Team at Haywood Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and driving the development of clinical and operational pharmacy services, working closely with our Deputy Director of Pharmacy and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical professional leadership, management, and development of pharmaceutical services, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient delivery of pharmacy services to patients within a robust clinical governance framework.
  • Responsible for all aspects of medicines management, including drug expenditure reporting, safety quality issues, audit, teaching, and research & development portfolios.
  • Support the Pharmacy Heads of Service in promoting and propagating service change and transformation within Pharmacy (Mental Health Services).
  • Create and deliver a broad pharmacy service audit plan, ensuring adequate dissemination of reports and proposals to stakeholders internal and external to pharmacy.
  • Manage staff in-line with current team structure, including regular 1:1 supervision meetings to ascertain progress with current and ongoing service issues and to set objectives relating to personal development.
  • Deputise for the Service Clinical Lead Pharmacist, Physical Health Services.

Person Specification
  • Pharmacy degree (Masters level or Bachelor's level and equivalent experience)
  • Registered UK Pharmacist (GPhC)
  • Post graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent post graduate Certificate and/or Diploma in Psychiatric Pharmacy or accreditation with College of Mental Health Pharmacists
