Job Opportunity: Accounts Assistant

Location: Loddon

Big Sky Additions Ltd is seeking a dedicated Accounts Assistant to join their established finance team in a rural business setting. This full-time role offers the chance to work closely with their Management Accountant and Finance Manager to ensure that all daily accounting tasks are carried out accurately and promptly.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Process and post purchase invoices, raising sales invoices as required.
  • Perform reconciliations for Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate with suppliers and customers to address and resolve account queries in a timely manner.
  • Prepare payment runs and manage invoice recharges, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Carry out weekly bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Assist with the preparation of accruals, prepayments, and profit & loss accounts up to the trial balance stage, providing support to the Management Accountant.
  • Compile monthly income and expenditure reports for the Management Accountant, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage general office duties, including sorting post, handling emails, and answering phone calls in a professional manner.
  • Provide support for other accounting functions as required, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn.

  • Proven experience working in a finance environment, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accuracy and completeness in all tasks.
  • AAT study support available for the right candidate.
