Role Title: Fixed Income Trade Operations Associate Sr.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Fixed Income Trade Operations Associate to join our team at Capital Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for executing and monitoring complex accounting and operational duties, including post-trade processing of fixed income instruments, derivatives, foreign exchange, fail management, and collateral management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and/or monitor functions necessary to support the investment process by providing operational service to internal and external business partners
  • Directly interact with counterparties, custodians, prime brokers, and external vendors and partners with internal stakeholders to instruct trade, correct trades, and resolve issues
  • Function in a team may include trade confirmation, settlement, claims, client reporting inquiries, trade cover currency decisions, account onboarding, processes to support new products, ensuring regulatory compliance, and ad hoc requests
  • Utilize various internal and external systems, reports, and sources to ensure records are accurate and timely with review and approval of more senior analyst
  • Maintain a high-level of attention to detail and perform self-review of work and peer review of some periodic/production work
  • Identify and assess business risk (i.e. applicability of regulatory requirements by investment type) and determine impacts within the company and to clients
  • Demonstrate initiative by identifying and communicating issues to reviewers/managers/others
  • Work seamlessly with sites globally to support 24-5 operational model
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Model skills and technical knowledge and provide support to new associates
  • May act as a resource and provide guidance to newer associates
  • Provide operational and technical guidance on internal controls to other departments

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Business & Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of securities and investment operations, including characteristics of various investment instruments and market practices, and ability to apply them to work assignments
  • Demonstrate the ability to be self-driven to understand how and why things work, the financial industry and/or the connections between process and technology
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft, and other business applications and the ability to apply them to work assignments
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of functional team policies, practices and controls, and ability to apply to work assignments
