Mental Health Nurse Specialist

LeviCare Limited is seeking a skilled Mental Health Nurse Specialist to join our team in Bradford and surrounding areas. As a key member of our Intensive Home Treatment Team (IHTT), you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care, focusing on risk and safety management and safeguarding adult patients of all ages.

Main Responsibilities

Patient Care and Clinical Practice

Deliver care and interventions aimed at stabilizing mental health crises, ensuring patient safety and promoting recovery.

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans that promote patient independence, dignity, privacy, and safety.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, carers, and other health professionals to ensure holistic care is provided.

Teamwork and Leadership

Support and collaborate with allied health professionals in the assessment, planning, and evaluation of care and treatment.

Supervise Senior Healthcare Support Workers and delegate tasks appropriately to ensure the smooth functioning of the team.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria:

  1. Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification.
  2. Evidence of continuing professional development in relevant areas.

Desirable Criteria:

  1. Qualification in clinical supervision.
  2. Postgraduate education in psychological therapies.
  3. Teaching qualification or equivalent clinical teaching experience.
Experience

Essential Criteria:

  1. A minimum of two years post-qualification experience in mental health care.
  2. Experience working with patients in mental health crisis situations.
  3. Experience in multi-agency collaboration and working across service interfaces.
  4. Experience working within a multicultural framework.

Desirable Criteria:

  1. Experience with older adult age-related illnesses and conditions.
  2. Experience in teaching or leading others in a clinical setting.
Knowledge

Essential Criteria:

  1. Strong understanding of evidence-based clinical interventions relevant to mental health crisis care.
  2. Completion of relevant specialist clinical courses or training.
  3. Familiarity with care and treatment models for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.

Desirable Criteria:

  1. Knowledge of SystmOne PAS or equivalent patient management systems.

Schedules:

  1. 8-hour / 12-hour shift
  2. Day/Night shift
  3. Monday to Friday
