Company Overview:
Our client is a successful and well-established food manufacturer. They are looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to join their team in a food manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the food safety, legality, and quality of all products manufactured on site. This involves the production of a comprehensive Food Safety Quality Management System and regular auditing of such. As the site lead for food safety plans (HACCP, TACCP, Allergen & Listeria), you will also be responsible for managing the Process Compliance Officer, providing leadership and management to deliver their role effectively, and to provide succession planning for the future.
Key Responsibilities:

• Managing the Process Compliance Officer, providing leadership and management to deliver their role effectively, and to provide succession planning for the future
• Leading on customer COPs and 3rd Party Standards, conducting documented gap analysis between customer COPs and site procedures, manufacturing standards and practices, engaging with stakeholders to draw plans on how compliance gaps can be closed and coordinating delivery of those plans, owning the FSQMS stage of 3rd party and group audits. Preparing for known audits, raising and driving close out of NCRs, partnering with department managers to embed relevant changes or CA's, supporting improvement to FSQMS in relevant Risk Assessments and Validations, managing site barrier risk assessment and associated validations, actively participating in HACCP team activities, updating site policies, procedures and records as and when required in line with company Doc Control Procedures.
• Ensuring effective management of team members with clear development to support the sites succession planning, guiding and supporting team through the day-to-day challenges and supporting action plans for a 100-year fix, appraisals x 2 year, resource planning, managing all ER related issues for team, including disciplinaries, performance management, promoting and leading change management through driving good behaviours and leading by example, attending relevant cross functional site meetings and presenting technical data, collaborating, educating and training relevant factory staff to support the development of a stronger Food Safety & Quality Culture.
• Supporting customer visits, project work: leading implementation of technical strategy and food safety and quality culture plan, supporting Continuous improvement plans such as complaint reduction, quality improvement & non-conformance reduction, leading strategic projects as required, carrying out other duties as reasonably expected by the business.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 Food Safety (Advanced) qualification, a Level 3 in H&S (Advanced), either IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent, and at least 7 years of experience in a similar role in food manufacturing. They will also have strong management skills, recognised PC skills (Microsoft Office Word, Excel & PowerPoint), and experience of using VISO or equivalent would be advantageous.
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, day shift, on site. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave entitlement. The salary for this role is £50,000 (negotiable depending on experience).
