About the Opportunity

The Humanities and Arts Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach History (HI) courses. As a member of our faculty pool, you will have the opportunity to teach introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses in History, drawing from your expertise in American, European, East Asian, Latin American, and global histories, as well as the histories of science and technology, urban and environmental histories, imperial and postcolonial histories, and race, gender, and social movements.

Responsibilities

  • Teach History courses, including introductory, intermediate, and advanced topics
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and course materials
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development

Requirements

  • PhD in History or related field
  • Teaching experience in History, with a focus on creative and critical pedagogical approaches
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment
