**Role Overview:** We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Specialist to join our team and contribute to the design and development of naval propulsion systems. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with suppliers to specify and procure components, and undertake peer reviews to support engineering governance activities.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop fluid systems for submarine propulsion, including compressible and incompressible fluid systems, thermodynamics, heat transfer, pumps, and control valves.
  • Support the procurement of components and materials, ensuring compliance with internationally recognised standards (ASME BPVC, PD 5500, EN 13445 etc.).
  • Undertake functional design activities, modeling, and analysis to ensure the efficient and safe operation of propulsion systems.

**Requirements:

  • Experience with pressure vessel design, including pressure piping and vessels to internationally recognised standards.
  • Chartered engineer or working towards professional accreditation.
  • Familiarity with engineering lifecycle through concept design, detailed design, manufacture, test & commissioning, operation and disposal.
