Inventory Management Specialist

Smead Manufacturing Company, Inc. is a leading manufacturer seeking an experienced Inventory Management Specialist to join their team.
Job Summary:We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to support the performance of processes and procedures associated with inventory integrity. This role involves planned cycle counts and timely resolution of issues related to inbound receipts, returns, transfers, and internal communications, ensuring that the physical inventory matches the systemic inventory.
Key Responsibilities:- Complete Cycle Count work following established counting cycles.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies reported by the warehouse team.
- Investigate and resolve variances on Sales Orders, Transfer Orders, and Purchase Orders.
- Identify and make recommendations to optimize accuracy and quality processes to reduce errors.
- Audit and research results in ERP system.
- Prepare reports of space in the warehouse.
- Lead year-end audits within the warehouse with the finance team.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- High school education or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience within a related warehouse role.
- 1+ years of experience in inventory management/cycle counting with scanners.
- Ability to operate a scissor lift, fork, or reach truck.
- Strong organizational skills, able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, with keen attention to detail.
- Data entry, Excel, and experience with Warehouse Management systems.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to focus on intricate details and maintain accuracy of thousands of items.
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with barcode scanners and ERP system; collaborate with finance, purchasing, and customer service teams to ensure accurate records.
- Inventory Management: Decision-making, problem-solving, and process optimization when managing stock levels, completing inspections, and auditing internal processes.
Estimated Salary: $21.67 - $30.45
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday (8 hours) at our Hastings facility.
