We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Advocate to join our team in Glasgow. As an Advocate, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with various needs, including mental health, physical health issues, and barriers to accessing support.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the individual's wishes, feelings, beliefs, needs, and values are met to create positive outcomes. You will support people to speak up for themselves and grow in confidence, equip them to understand and exercise their rights and options, and assist them in the decision-making process relating to their care, treatment, and support.
Key Responsibilities- Travel to locations such as clients' homes and community settings to meet with clients and professionals
- Support individuals to fully participate in decisions affecting them and ensure their voices are heard
- Work collaboratively with the individuals you support, being creative in your approach to empower them
- Ensure individuals understand and exercise their rights and options
- Support individuals to make informed decisions about their care, treatment, and support
- Desirable experience of working in advocacy or providing welfare, supporting, or caring for adults with support needs
- Ability to work resourcefully and collaboratively with individuals and professionals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to gain or hold the Level 2 Award in Independent Advocacy
- 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
