Job Overview

We are a leading waste management and healthcare company, prioritizing top-tier services and robust financial practices. This role is ideal for a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our finance team, ensuring seamless financial operations.

This position will involve working 4 days per week from our site in Spennymoor, Durham, with an option to work remotely one day.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Monitor outstanding accounts, ensuring timely collection of debts and minimizing overdue payments.
  • Manage daily cash collections & allocations into systems.
  • Perform regular customer account reconciliations and resolve balancing items, maintaining accurate records between systems.
  • BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH CUSTOMERS TO RESOLVE PAYMENT DISPUTES OR ISSUES PROFESSIONALLY AND EFFECTIVELY.
  • Liaise with internal teams, including sales, plant admin, and customer service, to resolve billing or payment issues.
  • Generate statements, invoices, and payment reminders.
  • Prepare regular reports for management on aged debtors, highlighting potential risks and actions taken.
  • Follow up on overdue accounts through phone calls, emails, and written correspondence.
  • Collaborate with external legal or collection agencies when necessary to recover debts.
  • Perform general administration and other ad-hoc duties as required.
