Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Theatre Technician to join our Performing Arts department at Wigan & Leigh College. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a theatre background to work in a dynamic and successful specialist performing arts department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of Level 2 and Level 3 BTEC qualifications, working with a team to ensure the smooth running of the music and performing arts facility. This includes providing technical, practical, and advisory support, as well as maintaining and safely operating the working areas of the department.

As a Theatre Technician, you will also be part of a team delivering lighting and sound for shows, as well as on occasion, for wider college events. The ideal candidate will have experience in theatre lighting and sound, audio production and editing, upkeep and repair of equipment, and general upkeep of performing arts spaces.
