Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our team at Fife Council. As an Early Years Practitioner, you will play a vital role in promoting children's learning, development, and welfare within a nursery context.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective learning and development plans for children aged 0-5 years.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a high-quality learning environment that promotes inclusion, diversity, and equality.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless transitions and support for children.
  • Contribute to the development of the nursery's curriculum and policies, ensuring they align with the Curriculum for Excellence and Realising the Ambition.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in early years education and childcare.

Requirements

  • Hold a relevant practitioner-level qualification (HNC Childhood Practice/Early Years Education & Childcare or SVQ Level 3 Social Services, Children and Young People).
  • Be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) at practitioner level within 6 months of taking up employment.
  • Have a working knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence, Realising the Ambition, and child development from birth to 5 years.
  • Demonstrate high levels of interpersonal skills and abilities to work effectively as a member of a team.
