Job Description

This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced Optometrist to join the expanding Optometry team at The Shrewsbury & Telford Hospital NHS Trust. As a Senior Optometrist, you will have the chance to develop your clinical skills in core Optometry and progress your specialist clinical interest in areas such as Medical Retina, Glaucoma, Intravitreal injections & Laser.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver highly skilled and specialist clinical support to the Ophthalmology service, undertaking advanced optometric clinical and investigative procedures.
  • Work in a range of core and specialist clinics, alongside Consultant Ophthalmologists and other Specialist Optometrists & Orthoptists.
Requirements
  • BSc (Hons) Optometry or equivalent qualification, with GOC registration as a qualified Optometrist.
  • Experience managing minor eye conditions, paediatric eye care, and confident use of electronic health records.
  • Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development, in accordance with GOC requirements.
Salary and Benefits

We are offering a competitive salary of £50,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, you will receive a range of benefits, including a generous pension scheme, annual leave entitlement, and access to ongoing training and development opportunities.
