Regulatory Affairs Policy Strategist

The Regulatory Policy Strategist within the Regulatory Policy and Intelligence team is responsible for maximizing external advocacy efforts through setting key regulatory policy priorities and ensuring aligned positions on strategic topics that impact our portfolio and pipeline.

This role ensures we're future-thinking and looking at how we can shape the external environment through coordination of the external regulatory advocacy effort.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement global regulatory policy positions on key topics in conjunction with internal subject matter experts.
  • Develop advocacy strategies and stakeholder mapping to influence the external landscape across various topics, including measures to enable self-care readiness and ingredient advocacy.
  • Lead the evolution of Policy Forums within Bayer.
  • Support localization of policy advocacy strategy.
  • Provide advocacy training for Regulatory Affairs teams.
  • Ensure alignment and close collaboration between Regulatory Affairs and public/government affairs teams.

This role adds business value by maximizing external advocacy efforts and ensuring aligned positions on key topics that impact our portfolio and pipeline.

Collaborations:

  • Regulatory, Medical, Safety, and Compliance (RMSC) teams, global, local, and regional Regulatory Affairs teams.
  • Regional and Country Regulatory Heads.
  • Trade Associations (Global and Regional bodies).
  • Relevant subject matter experts across technical functions, including R&D, Public Affairs/Government Affairs, Medical, Clinical, Packaging, etc.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in comparable positions.
  • Proven global regulatory experience in Consumer Health.
  • Experience working on regulatory classifications for OTC, cosmetics, and food supplements.
  • Experience in Regulatory Policy, with proven experience working with Consumer Health sector trade associations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Highly effective at distilling complex issues into simplicity.
  • Relationship building and collaboration skills, alongside expert influencing skills.
  • Broad understanding of the Consumer Health business (medicinal, nutritional, and cosmetic products).
  • Highly agile, able to navigate and research new topics impacting the Consumer Health external landscape.
