Commercial Director

Avance Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our team. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of our projects, ensuring that we deliver high-quality services to our clients while maintaining a strong commercial focus.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the commercial teams and daily operations in the department, ensuring that all commercial activities are aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Develop, train, and mentor the commercial team, providing guidance and support to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
- Monitor and discuss performance and targets with the team on a monthly basis, ensuring that we are meeting our commercial objectives.
- Review and analyze financial reports and forecasts, ensuring that they are complete and accurate at month-end.
- Resolve final account disputes with clients and subcontractors within 2 months of off-hire, ensuring that we maximize dilapidations.
- Ensure that the commercial team is liaising with the operations team to keep current with variation orders and progress on projects.
- Lead CPR meetings covering all live projects, ensuring that we are managing commercial risks effectively.
- Maintain accurate application registers for all projects, ensuring that we are tracking commercial activity effectively.
- Review contingencies, variations, and values in risk to ensure that they are appropriate and aligned with our commercial objectives.
- Ensure that we are applying monies and receiving payment certificates in line with the contract.
- Review weekly cash flow to ensure that we are maximizing collection of outstanding cash and resolving customer queries and accounts promptly.
- Implement IFS and train the commercial team on the system when it goes live.
- Compare PDOCs to scope to monitor overspend and any margin degradation.
- Monitor costs and margins on projects in the hire cycle due to maintenance, remedial, and variation orders.
- Assist with negotiations of subcontractors to maximize margin through negotiation and tighter control over costs and variation orders.
- Assist Commercial Leads with collection of cash when required.
- Attend all launch meetings and ensure that commercial leads are allocated to projects appropriately.
