Technical Design Specialist

At The West Group, we are seeking a skilled Technical Design Specialist to contribute to our innovative team dedicated to producing high-quality, precision elastomeric components and sealing solutions for the aerospace and defence industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop new components using SolidWorks and CATIA software, ensuring compliance with aerospace industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) using non-linear techniques to identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies and perform and coordinate qualification/validation activities internally and externally.
  • Lead the development of customer programs from conception to production before ownership of NPI.
  • Provide value-added engineering support to internal and external teams as required, delivering support and design improvements using knowledge of manufacturing processes, including tooling and production techniques.
