Mechanical Engineer

We design and build a wide range of naval ships, from offshore patrol vessels to aircraft carriers, providing customers with the capability to conduct extensive naval operations worldwide. As the sole provider of complex warships and combat management systems to the UK Royal Navy's surface fleet, we're looking for talented individuals to join our Naval Ships team.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Graduate, you'll be involved in the design, development, and testing of complex mechanical systems, turning ideas into products. You'll learn to generate concept ideas and turn them into viable solutions, gaining experience with 3D modeling and analysis tools that consider factors like materials, manufacture, assembly, cost, and performance.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll apply scientific principles and technical information to generate concept ideas, select the most suitable design, and turn it into a viable solution. Through 3D modeling and analysis tools, you'll create a detailed design that factors in considerations such as materials, manufacture, assembly, cost, and performance.
Key Skills and Qualifications- Capturing and analyzing requirements to understand customer/business needs and the context in which the system will be used.
- Supporting the design and optimization of system architectures and solutions using system modeling techniques.
- Facilitating successful integration of systems and sub-systems.
- Identifying and mitigating failure modes.
- Supporting the identification of safety hazards and the assessment and mitigation of safety risk.
- Creating high-quality written reports and calculations to back up engineering decisions.
