We are seeking a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support teenagers with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in our Islington schools.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact by helping students overcome challenges and transition back into a mainstream learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help manage behaviour in the classroom, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to help students re-engage with their education, developing strategies to boost their confidence and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to create personalised learning plans and offer practical and emotional support that meets each student's unique needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • A genuine passion for supporting teenagers and helping them succeed.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
