Barnardo's Scotland is a leading children's charity that provides a range of services to support vulnerable young people. Our Pentland Way service supports children and young people with learning disabilities and/or autism in a residential setting.
About the Role
We are seeking to recruit As & When Residential Project Workers to join our team. As a Residential Project Worker, you will play an active role in supporting the children, young people, and their families/carers to achieve positive outcomes, as identified in the Young People's Individual Support Plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children and young people with learning disabilities and/or autism in a residential setting
- Work as & when shifts to assist with gaps in the Service rota due to staff vacancies, holidays, and sickness absence
- Communicate effectively with children, young people, and staff to ensure a smooth and supportive environment
- Work towards relevant professional qualifications, such as those offered by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
Requirements
- Experience in working directly with children and young people, preferably in a residential setting
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, young people, and staff
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including day shifts and waking night shifts
- Ability to work towards relevant professional qualifications
