The Role:

As a senior member of our Commercial Department, you will oversee team member development, facilitate training, and manage certain functions and processes within the team. You will be directly involved in researching electricity and gas non-commodity charges, creating models to forecast these charges, and managing and overseeing these forecasts in various pricing models.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage analytical tools and models to increase the efficiency of our commercial team.
  • Provide analysis of the wider energy market to senior stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Manage and provide analysis for large deals alongside account managers.
  • Input, review, and update non-commodity price elements for pricing, pass-through billing, and reconciliations.
  • Provide a key link between the regulatory and compliance team to ensure industry changes are debated and process is organised for eventual changes that impact forecasts.
  • Review and assess current pricing models and work towards more accurate, fluid, and scalable pricing techniques in the future.
  • Assess commercial risk on a portfolio and deal-specific level.
  • Create and publish industry insights.
  • Mine, aggregate, analyse data, and produce relevant reports.
  • Assist in the training and development of internal staff.
  • Perform various data entry, validation, and administration tasks.

Requirements:

  • Experience using a CRM system alongside multiple web-based platforms.
  • Previous experience working within the energy market or a role with directly transferable skills.
  • Experience in the Electricity and/or Gas Industry, specifically knowledge of non-commodity pricing elements.
  • Knowledge of SQL servers and working with large data sets.
  • A self-starter who takes the initiative to not just complete tasks but expand upon them.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Initiative to take on duties or tasks to further your learning and improve business processes.
  • Strong technical background with excellent analytical skills and special attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment and able to quickly respond to changing business needs and demands.
