Your New Role as Financial Controller

We are seeking a highly experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Work Lyf Group Limited in Newcastle-Under-Lyme. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the implementation of effective financial strategies and controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
    • Conduct variance analysis to identify areas for improvement and optimize financial resources.
    • Develop and support budgeting and forecasting activities to ensure strategic planning.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Auditing:
    • E nsure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements to minimize risk.
    • Liaise with external auditors and coordinate the audit process to maintain high-quality financial reporting.
    • Develop, maintain, and update internal control procedures to enhance financial governance.
  • Cash Flow Management:
    • Monitor and manage the organization's cash flow to optimize financial resources and meet business objectives.
    • Develop cash management strategies to minimize financial risks and maximize returns.
  • Taxation:
    • Oversee tax planning and compliance activities to minimize tax liabilities and ensure regulatory adherence.
    • Coordinate with external tax advisors as necessary to maintain high-quality tax management.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Supervise and mentor the finance team to foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
    • Foster a collaborative and efficient working environment to drive business success.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Contribute to the financial strategic planning of the organization to drive business growth and profitability.
    • Provide financial insights to support business decision-making and drive informed strategy.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations and the broader business to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Implement best practices in financial management to maintain high-quality financial reporting and governance.

About You:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field or alternatively be Qualified by Experience.
  • 3-5 years experience in financial management in a similar role.
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Salary: £70,000 - £90,000 per annum
