Job Summary:

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Materials Technology Manager to lead our Materials team. This role will involve managing a team of experts in metallurgy, non-metallics, and welding engineering.

About the Role:

  • This position requires a strong background in materials science and experience in project management and research and development projects.
  • The ideal candidate will have a degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science/Materials Engineering or Welding, and hold a Chartership or be working towards it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical mentoring within the department to ensure high standards are met.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including Rolls Royce, departmental managers, and the Ministry Of Defence.
  • Manage the Materials, Corrosion and Welding authorities and contribute to Defence Standards.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • A good understanding of UKAS laboratory environments is essential.
  • Experience in project management and research and development projects.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team.

Salary and Benefits:

BAE Systems offers a competitive salary range of £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including a pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance, and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan.
