About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join our Group legal team as a Legal Specialist in housing disrepair litigation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist advice and deal with claims against the Group in the area of housing disrepair litigation.
  • Review and organise the Group's legal approach to dealing with disrepair.
  • Reduce external legal spend on housing disrepair litigation by dealing with litigation and negotiating commercial settlements with customers' solicitors.
  • Provide direct and immediate feedback about the costs of settlement and the time needed to settle litigation to internal stakeholders.
  • Simplify relevant legal materials and issues to make them understandable for colleagues.
  • Review, prepare, and draft a range of documents, including standard correspondence, operational policies, and operational procedures.
  • Train and develop the skills of colleagues working with disrepair and provide support to other parts of the business to understand how disrepair claims work.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of business processes by addressing disrepair issues in a business context.
Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive in England and Wales with 4 years PQE experience in housing disrepair litigation.
