SEN Support Worker for Special Needs Schools

Are you a motivated and caring individual looking to make a difference in the lives of children with special needs? Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN support worker to join our team of passionate educators.
Salary: £90-£110 per day (depending on experience)
We work alongside special needs schools, supporting children with a range of additional needs, from Autism and Asperger's to emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs. Our clients have classes varying in ability and age, ranging from reception (5) up to 19 years old.
The role involves working 1:1, in small groups or across the whole class to create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment. You will also support special needs interventions and work within a supportive staff grouping where everyone follows the same standards and ethos.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting children with special needs in a variety of settings
- Developing and implementing individualized plans to meet the needs of each child
- Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for students
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
- A patient and understanding approach when working with children with special needs
- Ability to apply behaviour management strategies in a calm and resilient manner
- Openness to new challenges and a willingness to learn and grow professionally
- DBS clearance and two professional references required
