About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Manager to join our team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide leadership and management in all aspects of security, including policy development, risk assessment, and incident response.
  2. Develop and implement effective security strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure a secure working environment and provide specialist advice on security-related matters.
  4. Investigate security incidents and breaches, providing recommendations for improvement and ensuring that appropriate actions are taken.
  5. Manage and maintain security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems.
  6. Develop and implement training programs to educate staff on security procedures and best practices.
  7. Monitor and analyze security data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  8. Provide regular reports to the Director of Estates and Facilities and the Trust Board on security-related matters.
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Security Manager who possesses the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Significant management experience in the security sector or a similar environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to work.
