About the Role

Dentons is seeking a highly skilled Risk Analyst to join our growing new business intake team across the Europe region. As a Risk Analyst, you will play a crucial role in conflicts of interest, compliance checks, risk management, and supporting the firm in applying a risk-based culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conflict Checks: Run complex conflict checks across various sectors, practices, and geographies, including preliminary identification of sanctions issues.
  • Liaison and Collaboration: Liaise with partners, business support teams, and Risk teams firmwide to facilitate the prompt resolution of commercial and legal conflict issues identified from conflict searches.
  • Anti-Money Laundering: Conduct anti-money laundering refresh of due diligence for existing clients.
  • Global Conflict Clearance: Reach out to other Dentons regions to obtain conflict clearances across Dentons worldwide.
  • Confidential Information Management: Handle complexity protection of confidential information issues, manage information barriers, and document security processes.
  • Engagement Review: Review engagement letters, outside counsel terms, and other engagement terms/contracts.
  • Team Support: Support the team and risk management on various tasks and projects, such as client terms review, technology upgrades, team training, policy drafting, etc.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree, legal education is preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience analyzing and resolving conflicts of interest and managing confidential information issues acquired in an international law firm is required.
  • Technical Skills: Experience working with Intapp Open system is advantageous.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Excellent analytical skills, with ability to quickly identify and meticulously analyze complex issues and provide practical solutions. Effective communication skills, dealing confidently, competently, and diplomatically with internal clients worldwide, persuasively communicating the Risk position in writing as well as by telephone and providing clear and unambiguous instructions.
  • Commercial Awareness: Ability to comprehend the commercial concerns arising from the underlying advice provided by a global law firm.
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Methodical and organized approach to work and strong prioritization skills, with ability to work efficiently under pressure, prioritize and deliver work to a consistently high standard and to deadlines.
  • Decision-Making and Adaptability: Ability to make decisions and remain calm while under pressure, particularly when dealing with challenging situations.
  • Client Focus: Strong commitment to excellent internal client/customer-facing service, being professional in outlook and attitude and serve as an ambassador for Risk Europe.
  • Cultural Awareness: Ability to work as part of an international multicultural environment.
